MANILA, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) opens the online application for September 2020 Licensure Exam for Teachers (LET) or teachers board exam. According to PRC Resolution No. 1210 Series of 2019, the teachers board exam is scheduled on Sunday, September 27, 2020 in Metro Manila, all regional offices nationwide and including Zamboanga, Bacolod, Dumaguete, Catanduanes, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Romblon, Catarman, Jolo, Sulu, Tawi-tawi and Kidapawan.
PRC announced on May 8 the rescheduling of March 2020 LET to September. Board exams were cancelled due to oronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis and the declaration of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) by the government to contain the spread of the illness. This means that around 300,000 educators are expected to take the exam on September 27.

The opening of online processing for September 2020 LET will start on June 1, 2020 and will close on July 29, 2020.

Applicants are encouraged to use PRC's online application system called LERIS (Licensure Examination and Registration Information System) for convenience and to expedite the payment process.

PAYMENT METHOD
If you select PRC-Cashier, then you have to pay at the selected appointment place. Other options include LandBank, GCash, UCPB, Paymaya and any debit and credit cards.
PRC advised applicants to secure all requirements before proceeding to selected branch to avoid any inconvenience.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
1. A citizen of the Philippines or an alien whose country has reciprocity with the Philippines
2. At least eighteen (18) years old
3. Of good moral character and good reputation with high moral values; has not been convicted by final judgment by court for an offense involving moral turpitude

1. NSO / PSA Authenticated Birth Certificate (original and photocopy)
2. NSO / PSA Marriage Contract (for married female applicants only)
3. Transcript of Records with scanned picture and Remarks "For Board Examination Purposes" (original and photocopy)
4. Payment: P900.00
5. FOR TEACHERS IN SECONDARY GRADE: A bachelor's degree in education or its equivalent with a major and minor and the degrees which shall be considered equivalent; must have to take at least 18 units in Professional Education, or a bachelor's degree in arts and sciences with at least ten units in professional education.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR REMOVAL
1. Transcript of Records with scanned picture and Remarks "For Board Examination Purposes" (original and photocopy)
2. NSO / PSA Authenticated Birth Certificate (original and photocopy)
LIMITED USE OF CALCULATOR
PRC announced the limited use of calculator for teacher board exam. This includes the following conditions:
1. Only Mathematics major (under Specialization subject) would require examinees to use the calculator.
2. Calculators have the following features only: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, trigonometric function, logarithm and xy.
3. Only one (1) calculator per examinee shall be allowed inside the examination room.
4. All calculators shall be thoroughly inspected by the examination personnel.
The modification is pursuant to Resolution No. 25, series of 2019 issued by the Board for Professional Teachers. See complete details here.
PREVIOUS EXAMINATIONS
In the September 2019 LET, PRC released results fifty (50) working days after the exam. A total of 28,973 elementary teachers out of 92,440 examinees (31.34%) and 54,179 secondary teachers out of 136,523 examinees (39.68%) successfully passed the LET. Kezia Keren Ambag of Philippine Normal University - Mindanao, Joshua Sebigan Canseco of Mindanao State University - Gensan and Anjo Jurado Literatus of Saint Mary's College - Tagum earned the highest place in Elementary Level. Marlou Pugoy Camano of University of Southern Mindanao-Kidapawan led the passers for Secondary Level. University of Southeatern Philippines (USeP) - Tagum topped the schools for elementary with 96.07%. University of the Philippines (UP) - Los Banos dominated the secondary level test with 98.00% passing rate.
In the March 2019 LET, PRC announced results in forty-two (42) working days after the test. A total of 19,659 elementary teachers out of 72,054 examinees (27.28%) and 22,271 secondary teachers out of 85,823 examinees (25.95%) successfully passed the LET. Stephanie Apple Miguel Piodo of Compostela Valley State College - Montevista Branch topped the elementary level with 93.20%. Honey Gracielle Decosto Baclayo of University of Mindanao - Davao City led the passers for Secondary level with 93.40%. University of Southeatern Philippines (USeP) - Tagum led the schools for elementary with 85.71%. University of the Philippines (UP) - Diliman topped the secondary level test with 90.77% passing rate.

As indicated in PRC Resolution No. 1210 Series of 2019, release of September 2020 LET Results is on December 11. But due to the volume of takers and the COVID-19 pandemic, delay in the release of results is expected.

NOTE: PRC said that those applicants who have filed their application for examination and issued Notice of Admission (NOA) will no longer be required to file a new application.
