MANILA, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Tuesday, November 10, the calendar of board examinations for 2021. This includes schedule of opening of online processing, deadline for filing applications, practical examinations, professional upgrading examinations, Special Professional Licensure Examinations (SPLE) and target dates of release of exam results.
The 'Schedule of Licensure Examinations for 2021', under PRC Resolution No. 1283 Series of 2020, is pursuant to Section 7 (d) of R.A. 8981, authorizing the Commission to determine and fix the places and dates of examinations.

It covers examinations for dentist, architect, mechanical engineers (ME), physician, medical technologist (medtech), professional teacher (LET), electronics engineers (ECE), midwives, electrical engineer (REE), certified public accountants (CPA), civil engineer (CE), nurse (NLE), criminologist, among others.

The SPLE to Overseas Filipino Workers for 2021, shall be scheduled in accordance to PRC Resolution No. 2017-1034 pursuant to R.A. No. 8981 and Executive Order No. 835.
PRC advised that requests for additional testing centers outside the PRC Regional Offices for LET shall be in accordance with PRC Resolution No. 2012-675 series of 2012 dated August 24, 2012, "Designation of other cities outside PRC Regional Offices as additional testing center for LET."
"Filing of applications, including the submissions of all the required and supporting documents at the Regional Offices and Offsite Service Centers shall be within the period indicated in the schedule. The deadline for filing of application is final and shall be strictly implemented; hence, no extension shall be entertained or considered, except when deadlines fall on legal or regular holidays and non-working holidays. In the said case, the deadline shall be automatically moved onto the immediately succeeding working day," PRC said.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, most of the PRC licensure exams for 2020 were postponed. Only the physician licensure exam (PLE) pushed through as needed in the country's medical workforce.
PRC also started initial steps for the proposed online or computer-based board exams that would be useful especially on the pandemic and to align with the practice of other countries.

The SPLE to Overseas Filipino Workers for 2021, shall be scheduled in accordance to PRC Resolution No. 2017-1034 pursuant to R.A. No. 8981 and Executive Order No. 835.
PRC advised that requests for additional testing centers outside the PRC Regional Offices for LET shall be in accordance with PRC Resolution No. 2012-675 series of 2012 dated August 24, 2012, "Designation of other cities outside PRC Regional Offices as additional testing center for LET."
"Filing of applications, including the submissions of all the required and supporting documents at the Regional Offices and Offsite Service Centers shall be within the period indicated in the schedule. The deadline for filing of application is final and shall be strictly implemented; hence, no extension shall be entertained or considered, except when deadlines fall on legal or regular holidays and non-working holidays. In the said case, the deadline shall be automatically moved onto the immediately succeeding working day," PRC said.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, most of the PRC licensure exams for 2020 were postponed. Only the physician licensure exam (PLE) pushed through as needed in the country's medical workforce.
PRC also started initial steps for the proposed online or computer-based board exams that would be useful especially on the pandemic and to align with the practice of other countries.
