MANILA, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released on Monday, September 19, the full results of August-September 2022 Mining Engineer licensure exam (MELE), which includes the list of passers, topnotchers (top 10), top performing school and performance of schools.
As announced, 253 out of 389 examinees successfully passed the exams.

PRC administered the Mining Engineer board exam on August 24, 25, and 26, 2022 in the cities of Baguio, Cebu, Davao and Legaspi.
Note that the exams in Manila was postponed and was rescheduled to September 12, 13 and 14, 2022 due to the inclement weather brought by typhoon “Florita."
The examination was originally scheduled on July 11, 12, and 13, 2022 but was moved to August "to give graduates reasonable time to complete their examination requirements, after most colleges and universities have adopted new academic calendar that resulted into change of graduation schedule."
The members of the Board of Mining Engineering who gave the licensure examination are Rufino B. Bomasang and Augusto C. Villaluna, Members.

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees in the said examination as well as the previous ones who have not taken their Oath of Professional will be announced later.

COVERAGE OF EXAM
The three-day examination covered mining engineering I, II and III subjects.
Mining Engineering I (35%) includes mineral prospecting and exploration, sampling and ore reserve estimation, mining methods, mine planning, designing and developments, ventilation and mine safety, rock mechanics in mining engineering and applied mathematics in mine mathematics.
Mining Engineering II (35%) covers mineral economics, mine evaluation and feasibility studies, applied mathematics in mining engineering, mine management and computer application, mine and mineral land surveying and mining law and ethics.
Mining Engineering III (30%) includes general geology, mineralogy and petrology, economics geology, structural geology, principles of metallurgy, mineral processsing and assaying and applied mathematics in geology and mineral engineering and ecology.
PREVIOUS EXAMINATIONS
In the August 2021 Mining Engineer board exam, PRC released results in three (3) days. PRC named 206 out of 274 who passed the series of exams.
In the August 2019 Mining Engineer exams, PRC announced results in just one (1) working day. A total of 310 out of 375 passed the series of tests.
PRC also released results of August 2018 MELE in 1 working day. A total of 282 out of 326 successfully hurdled the exams.
